an appointment For yourself
What to do if you are a young person who is looking to visit our centre:
- If you are under the age of 13, you should speak to a trusted adult who can contact the police or a social care professional for you. We will speak with them to organise your appointment for as soon as possible.
- If you are 13 or older, you can contact us directly on 0330 223 0099 or you can contact the police or a care worker and they will book an appointment for you. These professionals can usually bring young people and parents or carers to and from an appointment.
an appointment For someone else
When is this the right service for a child or young person?
- Disclosure or suspected disclosure of sexual abuse/assault
- There are reasons to suspect child sexual abuse has occured
- Over sexualised/harmful sexual behaviour
- Genital health when there are concerns about sexual abuse
- The person is aged 18-25 and has complex needs.
What you should do if you think a child or young person needs to attend a SARC:
- If the child is under 13, please contact the police and children’s social care.
- If the young person is 13 or older, you can still contact the police or social care, but the young person can also make an appointment to come to the centre by calling us.
If this is the right service for the child or young person you are concerned about, you can contact us 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 0330 223 0099.
All cases will involve a strategy meeting, facilitated by our Safeguarding and Strategy Manager. It is our policy to ensure anyone under the age of 18 has a safeguarding referral.

before an appointment
You or your client may have been asked by Willow Tree or someone else to not eat, drink or wash before an appointment. The comfort of our clients is most important so if this has happened don’t worry, you/they can still attend an appointment. Bonfire party, friends gather, singing and laughing continuously.
An appointment may last for 2 to 5 hours depending on the care and support needed so clients may want to wear or bring some comfy clothes to change in to.
Please try to not arrive early for an appointment, this is so we can make sure we are ready for you when you get to the centre. If you think you are going to be early or late please contact us to let the staff know.
We have information leaflets about our centre for you to read and share:
